Memphis Farmers' Markets

Fresh Produce  -  Convenient Locations  -  Locally Grown

The Memphis area Farmers' markets are seasonal.  They open and close at various times in the spring and fall.  They usually open in May and close in October.

Some of them have more than vegetables.  You can also find fish, meat, flowers, crafts, prepared foods, and baked goods, depending on the location.  The larger ones have more of a variety.

The Memphis Farmer's Markets are listed below.  Some are not in Memphis, but they are all in the area.  One is across the bridge in West Memphis; another is in Mississippi, near the TN/MS border.

Scroll down the page to find exact location, days of operation, and hours, or click on the link to go to the description of the market.  It will be at the top of your screen.

YeaMemphis Tip - Be prepared to buy, in other words, have cash

Go to buy fresh, locally grown, vegetables, but also to enjoy the atmosphere and help the local farmers.  It is fun and makes you feel good to buy directly from the people who plant, tend, and harvest the vegetables you put on your dinner table.

I love sweet corn and Lady Peas.  There is only a small window of opportunity to purchase Lady Peas as they are challenging to grow and difficult to shell, as least according to one of the vendors.

While doing research and getting photos for this site, I must have bought peas and corn at almost every market I visited.  My refrigerator was soon overflowing with them.

I plan to go to the Botanic Garden market every Wednesday, but if I miss, I go to another one.  I will drive anywhere for fresh, sweet corn.

If you work all week and cannot get to one of the weekday markets, there are several on Saturday.  Find the one closest to you and visit.
