The Children's Museum of Memphis is bright and colorful, a made for children, fantasyland, with creative and imaginative activities in every area.  From the moment you walk in the door you know it is the place to fantasize, create, and play in a hands-on atmosphere. 

It invites you to enter a pretend world.  There is no area of the Children's Museum that does not hold delightful surprises for you and your children. 

Those two characteristics, the ability to imagine and create, which we greatly value and hope to foster in our children, can be enjoyed all over the Children's Museum.

Well-designed and spacious, the Children's Museum of Memphis has every corner holding a different activity for children to enjoy and for adults to share with them. 

It will give you much to talk about when you leave.  This is a place your children will want to go often.

Imagine your future

Here is a short list of the places your children might visualize their future.....

  • Imagine you are an architect, a carpenter, or a builder while playing with a huge supply of Legos.
  • Pretend fire fighters will have their imagination soar on the full-sized fire truck.
  • Launch your imagination into law enforcement in a patrol car
  • You think pilot's wings might be in your future; take a pretend trip in the cockpit of a Boeing 727. 
  • If you like to climb and slide, you will find a skyscraper, steps, tunnels, and a climbing wall

-  Need to Know  -

  • The Children's Museum of Memphis, located at 2525 Central Avenue, is two miles east of the midtown area. 
  • H2Oh! Splash Park, adjacent to the Museum, provides seasonal activity.  It is only open during the summer.  Admission to H2Oh! Splash Park is separate from Museum admission.  Check to find opening and closing dates. 
  • The gift shop is stocked full of kid-friendly items.  You can visit the gift shop without paying Museum admission.
  • The Museum is all on one floor and easily accessible.  There are activities that require climbing.
  • Jason's Deli Kid's Cafe is located inside the Children's Museum.  It is the only place food and beverages are allowed inside.  
  • Many camps and activities are available for children of all ages.  Check the web site for more information. 
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.  
  • Closed on major holidays.
  • Free on-site parking.

Admission for non-members

$12.00 all ages

Children's Museum of Memphis members have free entrance for a year, depending on the membership level purchased.

Museum admission does not  include admission to H2Oh! Splash Park.

If your family gets moving early, it is a good place to start the day. 

Rainy days are popular here.  In July and August, our hottest months, it will more crowded. 

Best Photo Ops - They are all over this colorful place.  The flower fence outside is a nice place to start your museum photo album.
